All the Other Stuff

There is more going on in our house then just the impending loss of our pregnancy. Even though it seems like we are consumed with it, and we sort of are, there are other fun and not so fun things going on that I should be sharing here with you.

This past Saturday we went to Ice Cream day here in Mascoutah. It's a really fun annual event. Several businesses participate in it...here's how it works...you walk around Mascoutah (or drive) and stop in at participating stores and businesses for a free ice cream sample...each business has a different flavor. As you sample the different ice creams, you get a representative from that business to sign your voting card, certifying that you've tried that flavor. At the end of your journey, if you have sampled at least five different ice creams, you may vote on your favorite. The kids really enjoy this. And they really loved voting. We have some good friends who own a thrift store in town, so our kids may have been a bit biased in their vote...but it really was the yummiest so they'd have had our vote anyhow!

We also recently went to Knoxville over Memorial Day to celebrate my nephew Cade's birthday. It was so much fun. Spending time with my sisters, my Mom, my nieces and nephews and our dear friends Anna and Lisa is always a welcome break from regular life and was defiantly a nice break from Hcg numbers and pregnancy testing. We spent all our days and nights with my sisters and Anna and Lisa...we cooked dinner each night and spent lots of time talking. Albert and my brother in law Justin took the boys camping and rafting and all sorts of "boy" type events. My sister Katie and her friend Ryan took the kids tubing on Ryan's boat...it was a lovely week. My mom was out of town for most of it, so we missed getting to spend as much time with her as we would have liked, but we did get to see her at the beginning of our trip, before she left on hers, and at the end when she returned but before we headed home.

My nephew Cade's birthday was amazing. His party was held at the lake, complete with a man-made beach. It was perfect and the kids had a blast. My sister Ashley made his smash cake, and I was surprised to discover how talented my sister is! She did an amazing job...the frosting, the colors, the shape was just perfect! It was a three dimensional car cake...super fabulous! She did accidentally start a fire in my mom's oven while baking this masterpiece, but that's another story.

In sad news, Isaiah had trampoline accident and fractured his right arm! It's not a huge fracture but its an uncomfortable one for him and now he's in a full cast on his arm. It's super sad but super cute at the same time.

I will post pictures of all these things as soon as I make my lazy self upload them all. I have wonderful pictures of Cade's birthday party and that fabulous cake to share!

And, as usual, I went back for more blood work today and my new Hcg number is 183..so it dropped again...slowly...so we have no idea how long this will take as we are pretty much just along for the ride. I'll continue to keep everyone posted!

You know I'm praying hard still!
Not a fan of trampolines...hope it heals quickly!
Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers!
Isaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

So glad you guys had a good time with the ice cream night.

The trampoline accident sounds painful. :(

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, always.

Continuing to lift up prayers!
Lamentations 3:22-26: It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

What a tremendous comfort we have in the wounds of Jesus! Praying!
Isaiah 49:13-16a Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands...
