Isaiah is doing better today. Still has high temps but no more seizures. We went to the pediatrician's office today. Sydney and Kambree had well checks and Brice and Isaiah were sick. The appointments went okay. Here are the highlights
- Brice has an ear infection. Got a RX for Amoxicillian.
- Sydney did not grow since her last appointment. She still weighs 21 pounds. Not concerned yet, but will be if she doesn't grow soon. She will go back for a weight check in two more months. The crazy thing is that she eats ALL THE TIME. And lots of food too. I can't figure it out. Trying not to worry... She is down to the 25th percentile for weight.
- Sydney got her shots. All except for the chicken pox vaccine. Because of Brandon, none of our children can be vaccinated for chicken pox. Sydney also has low iron as do all the females on my side of the family so no suprise there.
- Tonight Sydney has a fever of 103.4. Is it because of her shots? Because of whatever Brice and Isaiah had/have? A mix of both? Who knows...
-Bree weighed 11 pounds 13 ounces. 75th Percentile for weight. Yay for breastmilk!!! Her exam was great. She got her two month shots. Now she has a fever as well. 100.8. Hers is lowgrade enough that its probably just from shots. She is really cranky though.
- Isaiah got a script for Augmentin as Dr. Young prefers that for pnemonia. If he has a second seizure he'll have to be admitted, but so far so good. We're keeping him close to us. He sleeps beside us for now.
Needless to say it's hectic and stressful around here. To top it off, Alexandria sprouted a rash on her chest that looked a lot like petechaie. I swear my legs turned to jello when I saw it. Dr. Young checked that out too and said it was NOT petechaie and we were safe. What a flood of releif! Neither Albert or I feel great. Dinner was simple- hotdogs and pasta salad and all laundry and chores are to a minimum for right now. Hand sanitizer and Lysol are in constant use....
Hoping this all passes soon...

I don't stop by for 24 hours and just look at all the trouble you guys have gotten into! Glad the seizure was fever related! Hope everyone who's sick gets better quickly and everyone who hasn't gotten it yet stays healthy! It could happen!
UGH! I can't believe you have a house full of illness. Poor you!
poor little Isaiah! Just read about his seizure. how scary! (one of my little sisters had one many years ago and it is awful to witness)
Well, I think Syd is doing pretty good for a one year old! E&W only weigh 24 lbs and are 2 1/2! LOL
I feel so bad for you right now! Hope everyone feels good. I'm with Deb, that's an awesome weight. Clara and Chloe are 2 1/2 and they are both 24-25 pounds.
Mari didn't gain a pound between her 18 and 24 month checkups. Actually she lost a pound. And I am still not sure if she has gained another pound since. But she seems healthy and she eats. We may just have skinny girls! I hope you are illness free soon. Another reason to hate winter!
Seizures, WTH? Seriously? Okay have to read back a few posts I think, I'm a little behind.
Okay and you need to explain to the very dumb me, why the kids can't be vaccinated against the chicken pox? I would've thought they'd have to be vaccinated against everything just in case so I know the answers gonna be very interesting.
Tonya,
Your question isn't dumb at all. I wondered the same thing at first. Generally vaccines are good for Brandon for obvious reasons.
The reason the other kids can't be vaccinated with the chicken pox vaccine is because it's a live vaccine. All the other's the kids get are dead.
Chicken pox and illnesses like it are very dangerous to kids who are immunocompromised like Brandon and since the chicken pox vaccine is a live one, he could get really sick from being around a kid who has been vaccinated within the last month or so. That's the reason. ALl other vaccines are fine though and encouraged.
love,
ang
